Front Brake Ducts for C5 Corvettes (T-1 Legal)

 

Instead of blowing air aimlessly around the wheel well, these brake ducts finish where GM left off.  Air is blown directly into the hub/rotor area to dramatically reduce rotor temperature.  Works with up to 10" wide 18" tall front rims.  These are now standard equipment on our C500/RSR.
We recommend using these in combination with our
Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines and Stainless Steel Pistons for the ultimate in repetitive and high speed stopping performance on stock GM calipers.

Last summer while we were developing these ducts, our C500/RSR test car with just the factory cooling would repeatedly burn and damage the piston seals on our 6-piston AP calipers after 4-6 hours of very hard track driving at Road America. After installation of these ducts, we have yet to see any failures of the piston seals after 20 hours of high speed testing!

Kit includes left and right ducts with high temp hose and clamp.  All hardware included with instructions. 1 hour installation time.

This is our ultimate brake upgrade for the C5 Corvette.  Front unit is a AP Racing 6-piston caliper with a 14" slotted and directionally veined rotor.  Rear is a AP Racing 4-piston caliper and 13" slotted rotor.

The key to this kit is the custom DRM master cylinder and rear adjustable proportioning  valve.  Unlike other competing systems ours provides a high and solid brake pedal for secure braking.

Kit comes complete with aluminum hats, mounting brackets, braided stainless steel/Teflon lines and performance brake pads.

This is a must for all enthusiasts with an upgraded brake system and it works good with any brake package, our AP setup, Willwood, Etc. For use with street or race setup. With this Modified Master Cylinder you'll get a bigger Master Cylinder that means that there is more brake fluid flow and a upgraded brake pedal feel.   With this Master Cylinder the proportioning valve is added  so you can control how much rear braking you want.  That comes in handy at the racetrack.  The DRM Modified Master Cylinder fits under stock location designed to clear the stock hood.  If you are looking for maximum in braking performance this is the ticket.

The factory aluminum pistons are a huge heat sink, rapidly transmitting heat from the pads into the fluid. DRM’s stainless steel pistons insulate the fluid resulting in a more consistent brake pedal and less chance of fluid boil. When high performance or racing pads are used these pistons are considered a must.

Stainless Steel Brake Lines

Under even mild conditions stock brake hoses expand with every push of the brake pedal. This condition results in a soft pedal, reducing the efficiency of your brake system. In addition, when introduced to the rigors of racing, stock hoses can leak or burst. DRM’s braided stainless steel lines are designed to handle the demands of racing by also transmitting maximum fluid pressure to the calipers. Results are improved braking, a firmer pedal and increased driver confidence.

Please note, we don't use factory style banjo fittings and bolts due to the risk of them getting knocked loose during track and high performance driving.

Rotors and Hats

High Performance Rotors and Hats

Stock rotors will not hold up under repeated extreme braking, especially when coupled with high performance brake pads. The killer is heat. DRM’s high performance rotor and hat assemblies are race proven to take the heat. Their extra thickness can handle the extreme temperatures without warping, and their directional cooling fins rapidly dissipate heat. The billet aluminum hats also aid in pulling heat out of the rotors. All this adds up to longer life for rotors, wheel bearings, brake pads and brake fluid.

High Performance Brake Pad Descriptions



An excellent choice for replacing stock pads. Their versatile material works well on vehicles used for street and light duty racing.   These pads reduced thermal transfer to the caliper by means of a ceramic insulating barrier between the pad material and the backing plate.


PFC Z-Rated Pads
The pad of choice for the street racer, auto-crosser and drag racer. The Z-rated material delivers more brake torque with less pedal effort than stock brake pads.

PFC 01 Compound
The 01 race pad is a newly developed compound. This pad is the flagship pad for touring cars and most saloon car applications. In terms of supreme braking, it supercedes all of Performance Frictions earlier Compounds. It takes more heat to get this pad to function as intended but at the same time it has an extremely high heat tolerance, being able to see temperatures in excess of 1200 degrees Fahrenheit without seeing excess wear. The ideal working temperature for this pad is between 600 and 900 degrees Fahrenheit. While being a more difficult pad to modulate, its release characteristics are this pads strong suit. PFC 01 is an extremely high friction compound, with a high flat torque curve, providing excellent modulation. Better pad wear than the 83 compound, with a smooth, fast release. PFC 01 polishes the rotor without pad material build-up. This compound has had success in CART, Winston Cup, Busch, ASA and Featherlite Modified Series racing.

Race car-level handling, adjustable ride height and a more comfortable ride result when the DRM CoilOver suspension kit is installed on late model Corvettes. Originally designed for DRM race cars, the CoilOver suspension allows each corner of the Corvette’s suspension to react independently by eliminating the leaf springs and the “cross talk” associated with them. The DRM CoilOver suspension can be installed using stock shock absorbers or new Bilstein shocks. C5 Sway bar kit
Kit includes:  Teflon lined heavy duty Heim-Joint end-links,  and high durometer polyester filament lined rubber bushings.  The race version has polyurethane bushings instead of rubber.

C5 Corvette Sway Bar kit

DRM now offers high performance sway bars for the 1997-2004 C5 Corvettes.
Available in both "Sport" and "Race" versions, these sway bar sets will give your C5 Corvette a more stable ride by dramatically reducing body roll.  The "Sport" set reduces roll by up to 50% over a the FE-3 or F-45 suspension.  Even the Z51 sway bars can't resist roll like these can.  For more serious autocrossing and high speed road courses we recommend the more aggressive "Race" sway bars.  These are the bars used by GM for the T1 series racing and are included on our potent C500/RSR street/race car.

Stainless Steel Header System

If you are looking for a easy to install, good fitting header system, long lasting, and make good horsepower.  Take a look at the newest header system on the market today.  We have been very impressed with the fit and finish during our testing period.  They make horsepower, torque, and look good doing it.  Tuning is required after install to make the most of any header system.  We can install, bench tune or dyno tune!!

Please note that you must order a center section to complete the system.  The 2-1/2" is for stock mufflers and most aftermarket cat-back exhaust.  The 3 inch option is for some of the aftermarket 3 inch mufflers.  Please call or e-mail if you need any technical advice.

   TPS Performance Headers - C5 Corvette

 TPIS was the first on the market with a C5 header with power H, and it’s a winner. The reports are terrific. Our own testing has shown 17 ft. lbs. DRM Tranny and Diff cooler kits



These DRM coolers have been tested around the world at many different race tracks.  They have been tested to 600 horsepower in roadracing applications.  It will bring your fluid temps down to a cool level.  They mount in the factory ZO6 duct location.  There is a small amount of wiring needed.  The kit includes the pump, cooler,  aeroquip lines, AN swivel fittings, install pics.  The normal install time is 3 hours for each unit.  DRM recommends Redline fluid for added protection.

DRM STEERING RACK BUSHING



These DRM Steering rack bushings will increase steering feel.  The solid bushings will increase steering feel and get rid of unwanted slop in the rack.  The bushings are made from aluminum and are plated black for a long lasting finish.  Like all of our products the idea and design came from racing and they work.
