Brake Conversions

DRM’s philosophy on developing brakes for the consumer has always been the same – deliver the most bang for the buck. Each system DRM offers is designed for a specific application – from all out racing to combination track/street use to just every day driving. Yet all of DRM’s systems, when used in their intended environments, share the same traits:

        Maximum braking ability with minimal driver effort
        Long component life
        Firm, consistent brake pedal
        Predictable stopping performance
        Vehicle stability under extreme conditions
        All of the above...all day long

C5 Stock Brakes

The stock C5 stops fairly straight and controlled but dramatically unloads the back end under heavy braking.  This much weight off the rear tires reduces braking efficiency.

C5 Modified Brakes

The DRM C5 brake kit will stop the Corvette sooner and reduce back end lift, but to stop as flat as this requires the addition of the DRM CoilOver suspension package

AP Racing 6-piston calipers combined with huge 14" slotted rotors with directional cooling veins are designed for serious street use and road racing environments.  Complete with aluminum hats, mounting brackets, braided stainless steel/Teflon lines and performance brake pads.

This is our ultimate brake upgrade for the C5 Corvette.  Front unit is a AP Racing 6-piston caliper with a 14" slotted and directionally veined rotor.  Rear is a AP Racing 4-piston caliper and 13" slotted rotor.

The key to this kit is the custom DRM master cylinder and rear adjustable proportioning  valve.  Unlike other competing systems ours provides a high and solid brake pedal for secure braking.

Kit comes complete with aluminum hats, mounting brackets, braided stainless steel/Teflon lines and performance brake pads.

The factory C4 front brakes pale in comparison to the stock C5 system. That’s why DRM has designed a package that mounts this C5 technology on the front of 1984-96 C4 Corvettes. The C5’s large, heavy duty calipers deliver unmatched rigidity for a firm brake pedal and even pad wear while the rotor’s extra thick friction surface will handle more heat without warping or cracking.
